Last night I treated my grandparents to dinner - just me and them for the first time. It made me feel really good. We went to a place that they'd been wanting to try but was too far for them to drive to, and we tried some new types of food that we usually don't order. And it was really tasty! And then I got to pay - that was the best part. Seriously, the best part of having a job is being able to pay for the things that other people (parents, grandparents, older sibling) used to pay for you to have. I find my work at Google satisfying for many reasons, but knowing that I don't need to rely on other people for those little extras, like paying for my grandparents' dinner, is possibly the best perk I can think of.
I wanted this entry to be longer but I'll have to add on to it later. But seriously, paying for all my own stuffs is totally an all growed up thing to do.
