New Zealand is absolutely gorgeous, even when it's dumping three days of rain on you and you've been slogging through muck to go hiking :D I'm pretty pleased with the state of things, though. Yesterday the weather cleared beautifully and we did a gorgeous hike up to a glacier in Mt. Aspiring National Park.
My dad's been having a fun time of driving on the left side of the road. No accidents so far!
Everything grows big here, the birds, the cows, the trees, the flowers. It's pretty exciting. Amazing what a little (or a lot) of water can do for you. We're enjoying the roast lamb, which is an NZ specialty, and the people so far have been lovely. Today we're leaving Wanaka and heading to Te Anau, after that, to Queenstown.
In my life, things are also good. I achieved my goal of a 3.5 cum GPA, thanks to the ridiculous hermiting I imposed upon myself this past quarter. I found a job working for Sunset for 4 days of freelance factchecking the week after Christmas. And, I'm getting a ton of writing and reading done here. Life is looking relatively rosy. As usual, I have few complaints ;o)
If you want a more complete rundown, you'll have to wait till Christmas Eve when I can post my pictures. Anyway, I gotta get going. Hope everyone's finals went okay and that you're recovering nicely at home.
