In between not so important things

We had a new person start on our team today - always exciting to see their excitement. I think he'll fit in well; he's already talking about "geeking it up." That's a good phrase for what I do at work, I suppose. I can also kind of talk about my new role at work that I'm really excited about, which basically is that I get to talk about Google Maps with the public. Still can't talk too much about it, but you can ask me in person if you're really that interested. Let's just say it's a job that I've been wanting to do since I first accepted this position at Google, and I'm really, really pumped.

I suppose this week feels like a transition week. I am <--this--> close to a string of exciting weekends, the first of which will take place in Evanston for the spring BLAST show (sooo excited to see my wonderful BLAST friends), the second of which will consist of running 7.8 miles for Bay to Breakers, and the third of which will consist of packing for my 8-day trip to Peru (Cusco, Macchu Pichu, Aguas Calientes, Lares Valley trek) following by me actually going on the trip.

In between there is a TON of tasks to get done for several projects I'm doing at work, plenty of dancing to do, and some backpacking trips to plan for. Oh, and running to get myself up to hopefully 5.5 miles before the race. Hehe... :P

But enough of that laundry list. I had a wonderful Sunday checking out the Cinco de Mayo festival in San Jose, then having dinner with Robert, Derrick and some 17 of Julia's friend's birthday party friends. I made the Chili's conquest of successfully substituting a half-rack of chipotle-honey baby back ribs instead of chicken on top of my Caribbean salad. Simply stunning.

Grr, I have to run off - must finish one more task before going to dance practice, followed by dinner and sleeping so I can for real run. Whoo!
